Brewed Awakenings Coffeehouse opened in a cooperative grocery store in downtown Grand Rapids in 1996. When the Cooperative's Board of Director's voted to dissolve, we found shelter in the MacRostie Art Center. For eight years the Coffeehouse grew under the roof of the MacRostie Art Center, until the space could no longer contain us. In July of 2006 Brewed Awakenings moved 2 blocks east to our own building. It was a leap of faith,"Build it and they will come." We loved designing and building the space. May you enjoy your time spent here.
